Dr. Li graduated from Norman Bethune Medical University in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine. From 1998 to 2002, he pursued a Ph.D. in Pathology and Pathophysiology at the Institute of Bioengineering, Jilin University, during which he also studied in Japan and obtained his doctoral degree. Following this, from 2002 to 2004, Dr. Li conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Gastroenterology at Changhai Hospital, affiliated with the Second Military Medical University.
Dr. Li specialises in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of complex and challenging gastrointestinal diseases. He has extensive experience in managing critical conditions such as severe pancreatitis, acute liver failure, massive upper gastrointestinal bleeding, etc.. He is proficient in the eradication treatment of refractory H. pylori infections and excels in the early cancer diagnosis and interventional treatment using gastrointestinal endoscopy. His expertise includes EMR (Endoscopic Mucosal Resection) and ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection) for gastrointestinal adenomas and early-stage cancers, dilation and stent placement for benign and malignant gastrointestinal strictures, esophageal variceal ligation, full-thickness resection of gastrointestinal stromal tumors, endoscopic repair of perforations, and endoscopic hemostasis for massive gastrointestinal bleeding.
Dr. Li personally performs over 1,000 advanced-level endoscopic procedures annually. Additionally, he has accumulated extensive clinical data on intestinal microbiota interventions to prevent the recurrence of polyps and adenomas and reduce the risk of colorectal cancer development.
