Dr. Tan Lay Hoe is a Malaysian general practitioner who obtained his medical doctorate from  Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan in 1982. Following this, he spent two years working in the  ICU of Chiu’s Hospital in Kaohsiung. Upon going back to Malaysia, he had gone through all the  major disciplines namely Internal Medicine, Surgery, O & G, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics,  earning his qualification as a general practitioner.


During his over 40 years of medical career, Dr. Tan Lay Hoe has worked at the O&G department of  Alor Setar General Hospital, the accident & emergency departments of Taiping General Hospital and Putra Medical Centre in Malaysia, accumulating rich experience in the diagnosis and  treatment of general diseases, heart diseases, chronic diseases and paediatric diseases. From  2000 to 2012, he operated his own private clinic in Perak, Malaysia.  


In 2013, Dr. Tan Lay Hoe relocated to China. He has served as a general practitioner at Shanghai  Landseed International Hospital, and then the Doctor-in-charge of the A & E department at Vitup  International Hospital of Dalian, and a general practitioner at Beijing United Family Healthcare. 


In 2017, Dr. Tan Lay Hoe joined Raffles Medical Shanghai Clinic as a general practitioner and  head of the health screening department. Most recently, in 2026, Dr. Tan officially assumed the  role of general practitioner and internist at Raffles Hospital Beijing.
