The People of Raffles

Aaron Hu is the Head of Diagnostic Ultrasound and Manager of Sports Medicine at Raffles Medical Shanghai.

Dr Hu obtained his MD in Shanghai Jiaotong University (major in Imaging and Nuclear Medicine) and has served as the head of the Musculoskeletal Division within the Department of Ultrasound Medicine in Shanghai General Hospital (affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University). Dr Hu is not only proficient in ultrasound diagnosis of musculoskeletal and peripheral nerve diseases; he is also very skillful in ultrasound-guided procedures. Dr Hu has previously assisted many allied hospitals in developing their expertise in diagnostic ultrasound in musculoskeletal illnesses.

Dr Hu has extensive experiences in the field of rheumatic and autoimmune joint diseases and sports medicine. He has independently completed more than 2,500 cases during his tenure in First People’s Hospital. In 2017, Dr Hu expanded his diagnostic repertoire in the field of interventional-ultrasound for musculoskeletal and peripheral nerve diseases, and has successfully introduced the latest technologies, like articular injection, PNB and paracentesis of ganglion（precisely guided by ultrasound）into Shanghai General Hospital. Since 2015，Dr Hu has published 5 research papers in SCI and core journals. His research interests include early diagnosis and monitoring of rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis by ultrasound.
