Dr Chen received his bachelor degree in 2008 and his master degree in 2011 from Anhui Medical University and then obtained his doctor 's degree in surgery from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 2019.
Dr Chen has been practising as a surgeon for 12 years and also was a postdoctoral fellow at the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. He mainly specialises in clinical and scientific research of gastric, colorectal and anal surgery. He has been serving as an Attending Doctor of surgeon in Shanghai General Hospital since 2021, then joined Raffles Hospital Shanghai as a Consultant Doctor in 2023. Dr Chen completed a project of China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and also participated in four National and Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects. He has published over 10 papers in journals such as 'Cell Death & Disease' and 'Cell Death Discovery'.

- Dr Chen specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases in general surgery, including cholecystolithiasis, inguinal hernia, body surface tumors, etc. Dr Chen’s main specialty and focus area are surgical management of gastrointestinal diseases, minimally invasive treatment of gastric, colorectal and anal diseases, gastrointestinal benign diseases (such as gastric ulcer, pyloric obstruction, hemorrhoids, anal fistula, anal fissure, perianal abscess, rectal prolapses), inflammatory bowel diseases (such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), and neoplastic diseases (such as gastric cancer, gastrointestinal stromal tumor, colorectal cancer).
