Dr Xu focuses her research on the molecular pathology of gynaecology. She has previously served as the director of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department in Shanghai Eighth People’s Hospital, and Minhang Hospital of Shanghai Fudan University. Dr Xu joined Shanghai Raffles Hospital in July 2023 as deputy medical director and senior consultant doctor of the Gynaecology Department. She has been a major contributor to six national and municipal research projects and has published over 30 publications and citations in professional journals.
Dr Xu is the associate director of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology branch of the Chinese Non-government Medical Institutions Association. She is also the associate director of Shanghai Hysteroscopy and Colposcopy Association, Commissioner of the 6th Panel of Shanghai Modern-Traditional Medicine Association, a panellist in Shanghai Gyn Clinical Quality Control Centre, panellist of Shanghai Medical Accident Technical Appraisal Expert Committee, Vice President of Shanghai Non-governmental Medical Institutions Association-OB-GYN Branch.

She specialises in minimally invasive surgery with laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to treat benign and malignant neoplasms, as well as treating female endocrine disorders and infertility. She is also skilled in the use of colposcopy, LEEP excision, laser and photodynamic techniques in treating lower genital tract diseases.
