Dr Yang received her medical Bachelor degree from Qingdao University in 1982 and then obtained her master degree of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Shanghai Medical University in 1988.
Dr Yang Fan has been practised as a Gynaecologist for 40 years in gynaecological endocrinology and infertility treatment and fertility center. Since 1993, she has been concentrating on gynaecological endocrinology and IVF in Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Health Hospital. She has been to the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore and other places to study assisted reproductive technology. On November 24, 1998, the first test-tube boy-girl twins were born in Shanghai.In 1999, a 56-year-old menopausal woman was successfully conceived through egg donation and was happy to have a lovely and healthy boy. Dr Yang Fan is one of the earliest experts to carry out IVF in China. In 1999, Dr Yang Fan was awarded the 7th ‘Silver Snake Award’ of Shanghai Health System, 2 utility model patents, The 22nd Shanghai Excellent Invention Bronze Award, Shanghai ‘Second Prize of Clinical Medical Achievements’. She has participated in 2 National Natural Science Foundation of China, edited 1 popular science book, participated in the compilation of 10 books, and published more than 30 papers. In 2007, she has been a Chief Physician of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr Yang Fan serves on the editorial board of the Chinese Journal of New Drugs and Clinical Studies. Dr Yang Fan joined Raffles Hospital Shanghai in 2024 as a Senior Consultant Doctor, Gynaecology mainly responsible for the treatment of gynaecological endocrine diseases and difficult diseases of infertility.

- Dr Yang’s specialty and interests include the diagnosis and treatment of various menstrual disorders including menopause, childbearing and puberty, endometriosis, and premature ovarian failure, and she has accumulated rich experience. Dr Yang specialises in treating and dealing with infertility in elderly women, infertility combined with gynecological diseases, repeated IVF failures, repeated miscarriages, early pregnancy and fetal protection. Dr Yang is proficient in IVF (in vitro fentilization) and artificial insemination technology and good at doctor-patient communication, especially good at communication with married infertility families, birth planning, plan for sustainable fertility preservation (not ready to start a family for a while) and advising single women (cancer or unmarried healthy women) on fertility preservation .
