2019 has been a year of growth and improvement. The Group’s revenue grew 6.7 percent. Raffles Hospital and Raffles Medical clinics have done well and contributed tothe
improved results.
CHINA HOSPITALSThe opening of the 700-bed Raffles Hospital Chongqing on 2 January 2019 marked theGroup’s first step into the hospital business in China. The market is huge and thejourney
will be long and challenging. The Group will bring its experience, expertise andbest
people to contribute towards the well-being of the Chinese people as we build a newbusiness in China.
Raffles Hospital Shanghai, a 400-bed international hospital, held its topping outceremony in May 2019 and will open its doors to patients in 2020 when normalcyreturns
to Shanghai.
CONTINUING EXCELLENCE
Raffles Hospital Singapore continues to enhance its expertise and excellence withthe
acquisition and deployment of the latest da Vinci Robotic Assisted Surgery System.Utilising this system, complex surgeries can be carried out more safely,expeditiously
and cost effectively.
GLOBAL PANDEMIC
COVID-19 has become a global problem. Its immediate effects have disrupted growth,financial markets and supply chains. Likewise, the Group’s business is not immune tothis impact. The Raffles team of physicians, nurses, healthcare managers and supportstaff have all contributed by participating in temperature screening operations atonsite
clinics, through advisory work and other activities to help manage the COVID-19situation.
We set ourselves to be the trusted partner for health in Asia. Our patients, theirfamilies,
corporate clients, their staff and dependents as well as the community andgovernments
are all our partners. We intend to deliver compassionate and excellent care to them,and
add value to their lives through our teams in the various geographies.APPRECIATION

and the region who have bravely stepped up to face the challenges imposed byCOVID-19.
