Dr Xu received her Master’s Degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine in 2008.

Dr Xu is associate chief physician of Internal Medicine certified by Shanghai Municipal Health Commission. She has been clinical practising for 16 years and previously engaged in research work on hypertension and vascular remodeling in Shanghai Ruijin Hospital. She has been serving as an Attending Doctor of Internal Medicine in Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University since 2013. She has been the investigator for several projects funded by National High-tech R&D Programme (973 Programme), Ministry of Science and Technology, and National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC). She has also published several SCI research papers on topics involved hypertension, vascular wall stiffness, heart failure and cognitive impairment. In 2008, Dr Xu published her research findings at the 18th Joint Congress of Scientific Meeting of the European Society of Hypertension and the 22nd Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hypertension (Berlin, Germany). In order to recognize her achievements, the Committee of International Society of Hypertension granted her the accolade of Outstanding Young Scholar Award. In 2022, Dr Xu attended the 29th Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hypertension (Kyoto, Japan) and published her team’s research work on arterial stiffness.
