Dr. Gao was awarded a Master degree from Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University in 2007. He was a visiting scholar at UNMC, USA, in 2012 and was then awarded a Doctoral Degree by Tongji University School of Medicine.
Dr. Gao has 17-year of surgical experience. He was the Deputy Chief Physician in the General Surgery Clinical Medical Center at the First People's Hospital Affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Dr. Gao joined Raffles Hospital Shanghai as a Senior Consultant Surgeon in 2022. Dr. Gao has published more than 20 medical papers with translational publications in three internationally renowned textbooks. He was awarded the title of "Good Doctor of the Year" (General Surgery) in 2020 and 2021.
Clinical Interest
- Dr Gao’s specialty and interests include the individualised minimally invasive treatment of colorectal tumors, severe mixed hemorrhoids, rectal prolapse, complex anal fistula and inguinal hernias, especially in the laparoscopic anus preserving surgery without incision for low rectal cancer and the individualised minimally invasive treatment of mixed hemorrhoids.
