Dr Qin received his medical degree from School of Medicine, Wuhan University in 1984 and then obtained his master degree from School of Law, Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2011.
Dr Qin has nearly 40 years of clinical practice experience in surgery. He studied in Takeda General Hospital, Fukushima, Japan from 1994 to 1995, and was a visiting scholar at MD. Anderson Cancer Center (USA) in 2011 in the field of oncology surgery. He started working as a surgeon in Hubei Province from 1984 and then became a surgeon at Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University in Shanghai from 2000 to 2005. Since 2006, he has been a surgeon, vice-director and head of surgery in the 8th People's Hospital of Shanghai. Dr Qin joined Raffles Hospital Shanghai in 2024 as a Senior Consultant Doctor and Head of General Surgery.
Dr Qin has supervised many master students, presided over the completion of four study projects funded by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Science and Technology and Shanghai Municipal Commission of Health and Hygiene. He published more than 10 SCI papers.
Clinical Interest
- Dr Qin’s specialty include the diagnosis, treatment and operation of common and complicated clinical problems in general surgery including thyroid, mammary gland and gallstone. He’s skilled in the operation of hepatobiliary, pancreatic and spleen, and gastrointestinal surgery. Dr Qin masters minimally invasive surgery for gastrointestinal tumors.
